Last 15 September began in Exponav the celebrations of the centenary of the Workers School of Ferrol, with the opening of an exhibition at the Carlos III room called "100 years of the Workers' School of Ferrol". Over fifty-five years passed through this school thousands of children of shipyard workers. The exhibition is complemented by a series of lectures and the publication of a commemorative book. At the opening, which they were attended by many authorities (Social Policy Advisor, Mayor of Ferrol, President of Navantia, Factory Director Fene-Ferrol, Almirante Ferrol Arsenal and other authorities Marina, etc.), he reminded repeatedly that the real name of that school was "School of charities and forecast the Spanish Society of Naval Construction in Ferrol". The first to speak at the opening was the manager Exponav, who reminded the Navy linking with Labor College and passed the word to the curator of the exhibition Maribel Carro. It was followed by the Regional Minister of Social Policy who remarked that those children built a more important Ferrol. Then it was the turn of the mayor of Ferrol, who noted that all ferrolanos have links in the history of shipbuilding industry, “as he with his cousin”, that was in the presentation. Navantia chairman closed the round of interventions by noting that “must resume training on demand, either through agreements like those already underway, or a proprietary model for professionals”.
The exhibition is divided into eight sections: origins, first stage of the Workers' School, second stage gives Labor College, pre-apprentices, Apprentices School, the sport, music and characters. A wooden desk and a table with a crucifix recreate the origins of the Workers School of Ferrol, in which the children of workers formed naval, who then continued their preparation at the School of Apprentices to finally become part of the template shipyard, to reach the right age.
The details of the sections are as follows:
- 1ª Section: On arrival at Ferrol of the Spanish Society of Naval Construction (SECN)
It starts much with a view to the circumstances surrounding the birth and establishment of the Spanish Society of Naval Construction, as well as positive consequences arrival to the region ferrolana. Asimismo, roots charities and forecast the Spanish Society of Naval Construction are reflected, pursuing the improvement of social conditions of naval workers and their families. Among them is the Workers' School, For almost 70 years provide basic training to thousands of children of workers.

Under the leadership of the National Company Bazan, the last two school courses focused to a pre-technological training, initiating students in handling tools, guiding them towards a future professionalization as operators of the various naval trades. We may be surprised with the quality of the work done by these pre-apprentices from among 12 and 14 years.

During the time of Bazan, the promotion and development of sport became a top and integrated into the very formation of the students of the Labor College and the School of Apprentices. The sports offer was varied and novel, initiating the practice of many disciplines in the region. A major milestone was the participation of athletes at the Olympics company Labour held for years. It can be seen audiovisual material (NODE) on competition 1958, from which the team was champion ferrolano.

Nor forgotten music at the shipyard. There were several choirs and musical groups, the most representative of the Escuela Obrerea: the chorus of "Pueri Cantores", comprising selected by virtue of their musical qualities by Father Fanego students.
